India Eelctions 2009

Strange! I don't understand politics. I also fail to understand — politics as a way-of-means to run Democracy. Thoroughbreds of this field including intellectuals who are scholars — experts, who profoundly indulge themselves into the arithmetic of politics, fail to exact on a stable and, a prosperous democracy. I feel the Indian version of Politics is more speculative than the secondary market where — the position of underwriters is as bad as their public issue!

I, Welcome this elections wholeheartedly. We should all cast our vote.

The vital question still remains is — Who?
Is it imperative to vote for those candidates, who have filed their nomination? What, if I don’t find anyone reasonable enough to stamp duty and still wish to Vote. What can I (or anyone) do in this case?

YES I CAN.

I will cast a Protest Vote!

++What about you ...

  1. It was interesting to know, a journalist ask Varun (Gandhi) — "Is it a political conspiracy?"

Two men were (seen) quiet amused (laughing actually) [refer television footage] at Varun's Hindutva-laced slogans. His outcry spitting "JSR!" with two hands up seemed animated.

    (on the contrary)

BJP's objection, that the CD has been doctored is in conjunction to Varun's animated speech.

At present, both ― Varun and his party are enjoying a state of suspended animation!

I LOVE THIS ELECTION!!! And, believe me ― the May fiasco will rob all TRPs from CARTOON NETWORK.

    "Jai Ho!"

  2. I think I would vote some party instead of wasting my vote because it will eventually waste the precious resources of my country.

  3. Accepted — then you should ensure that your candidate is worth your precious Vote!

We should STOP macro-analyzing on party basis. We should micro-analyze on individual candidates based on their integrity. Voters should not act as wholesale dealers — acting on bulk consignments — picking from a lot and then crying foul...

  4. I really wonder why criminals specially with serious accusations get the ticket to even stand in election. I totally disagree with even the view of Sanjay Dutt standing in the election. Now a days many famous personalities are trying to get into politics, although they have no wish to serve the society. Politics is gradually becoming a retirement profession for them and they make sure to use their fame to get it.
When we see people with selfish motives getting into such high posts, it is really infuriating. I will make sure not to get biased by these false frames and vote for the candidate best for our country.

Also, Saurabh, as you said that we should not do macro analysis by looking at the party and not the candidate. But how can we ignore the party? Even if the candidate is good, but the party is communal or with wrong policies, I would prefer to use my right of "I VOTE NOBODY".

Do you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-o" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!
Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-o".

Why should you go and say "i vote nobody"... Because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-o" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... It is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public..
