C of Corruption

CORRUPTION is the most popular word. It sounds attractive. Has an attitude. The term connects instantly … and all of a sudden the brain starts ejaculating wisdom juices into mouth.

Heart surrenders to the mind and watches it ooze with Awe!

That’s the POWER of Corruption. It allows you turn-up against itself (as if you are its biggest enemy.)

Corruption has a unique character. It mystifies humankind to think that it is something that is ‘outside’ … like God or demon OR (perhaps) it came from outer space (for example: like a meteor travelling towards Earth with lightning speed, hitting the crust with a Big Bang!)

Corruption’s power of deception is embodied within its character.

Deception behaves like magnetism. On one hand it attracts people towards itself and on the other — it deceives people to think that it (corruption) does not reside in their body.

That is the true power of corruption. It does not allow people to think — they are corrupt!

So how now would you rate Corruption?

To me, corruption is a common behavior that usually goes unnoticed to ‘oneself’ (unlike smoking, drinking or something absurd like blasphemy.)

Let’s talk simple. Take your case (for example). You can’t see your complete self except your hands, legs and some other parts of your body … for everything else — you need to stand in front of a full mirror. And, even then, it’s an image (not you.) Only others can see you (and watch, what you do!)

This is where ‘corruption’ connects with its tentacles of deception.

I’ll not lecture you on blah, blah … How to end corruption, praise Anna Hazare … bring Lokpal and all that. You are knowledgeable enough and I respect your thoughts.

Ninety percent of World’s problem is psychological (including 90% of ours!)

Thank you friends :)

  1. Corruption is the grease that is running our wheel based system. We are indulged in comfort access/ease of workdone by any means, which is a wholesome reason for the same.
I think before changing any system/law , its important to change our mindset, we need to be honest for our soul.

I congratulate you Saurabh for bringing up this issue in a very elegant manner.

    Keep writing!
